JUN HUANG
Within the Lines
Project Overview
This series starts from a simple idea:
take very clean, familiar shapes and see what happens if you fill them with restless motion.
Each piece begins as a flat, iconic outline. Inside that boundary, I use custom flow fields in Houdini to drive thousands of curves. The lines keep looping, and changing direction, until the shape feels more like a small world. The contour gives a clear sense of order; the interior is where things get messy.
The works exist as high-resolution stills and looping animations, somewhere between fluid simulation, neon wiring, and daydream doodles—trying to show how much chaos a very simple form can quietly hold.
