Dynamic Mosaic Surface
Fragmented Sculptural Reconstruction
Dynamic Mosaic Surface is a procedural visual experiment exploring digital surfaces and fragmented reconstruction.
The project transforms continuous 3D surfaces into hundreds of irregular moving fragments that continuously reorganize across the form, creating a shifting state between material, structure, and digital skin.
Concept
A continuous sculptural surface becomes a fragmented, shifting digital skin. Moving elements preserve the overall form while exploring the tension between wholeness and fragmentation, stillness and motion.

Surface and Structure
Fragments reorganize the surface rather than simply decorate it. As they move and reconnect, the form remains visually continuous while its structure shifts and transforms.
Procedural Generation
Source Surface
Begin with a continuous sculptural surface that defines the overall silhouette and spatial boundaries.
Surface Fragmentation
Divide the surface into irregular fragments, replacing continuous geometry with a collection of distinct elements.
Point Distribution
Use spatial relationships to control the distribution and density of elements across the original form.
Mosaic Reconstruction
Reassemble the distributed elements into a fragmented digital skin, varying surface rhythms while retaining the sculptural form.
